Title: I see we have a lot of music enthusiasts here... well, Post by: Proph on February 04, 2007, 01:10:11 am I play guitar, and I made a quick video of a song I wrote. Caution: it's METAL! It's just me on my cheap ibanez, and the quality is kinda bad (small camera sorry). I used to perform this with my band for ridiculously small audiences. Any feedback is welcome (leave it here, on youtube or both hehehe).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcwefY2FV78 You guys got any of your music I can sample? Title: Re: I see we have a lot of music enthusiasts here... well, Post by: Matthew on February 04, 2007, 02:14:58 am Cool, cool. I use to have a band too we played alot of spiderbait and nirvana and stuff. After that i sang for a creedence cover band for a while, but nobody in our town wanted to hear older music so we quit and then my guitar was stolen and i hadn't bought one since till a month ago, which made it about 7 years since i had owned a guitar heh. Now im a karaoke dj, which is pretty cool. You would be suprised how many people can belt out an awsome bon scott.

And you can talk to Habba. Branchala envies him, when he grabs his guitar 8) Title: Re: I see we have a lot of music enthusiasts here... well, Post by: Proph on February 05, 2007, 02:36:12 am Yeah Nui, i'll have to get/borrow an external soundcard, because the one I have now is garbage and hard to access.
For mixing music I've been recommended pandora, but I can't seem to find it (there are a surprising amount of computer progs named "pandora"). Anyone have a link? I'm not claiming to be an amazing or even good guitarist. I just thought the song was catchy and want to see what you guys think. P.S. I would love to hear habb doin' some shreddin! Some Jazz / Britrock / Britpop as well, j/4 fun. Always a metal fan myself, don't get me wrong...but prog trance and house is honestly about as good as it gets...unless we're involving johnny cash ;D :D Title: Re: I see we have a lot of music enthusiasts here... well, Post by: Miradael on March 31, 2007, 10:42:27 pm Get Blink 182 back and Greenday's old sh*t and we got music :)....plus Bleed the Dream, Halifax, Driveing East, System of a Down, Korn, Dashboard Confessional, Hawthorne Heights, Blue October, Yellowcard, 311...i could keep goin and goin :-*
Title: Re: I see we have a lot of music enthusiasts here... well, Post by: Proph on July 09, 2007, 12:16:25 pm I uploaded a new video of me on my cheap ibanez. This song is a lot more mellow and its got a few catchy hooks. It's half jazz half metal and all smooth (if you ignore the many mistakes) 8) the recording quality on this one is significantly better, but it still got a little messy when i converted the file in WMM
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVSE1L1npfo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVSE1L1npfo) i basically recorded it just so I wouldn't forget my ideas for a song, but decided to put it on youtube just for the halibut. any fellow woodshedders want to share? Title: Re: I see we have a lot of music enthusiasts here... well, Post by: Lizzy on July 09, 2007, 12:28:55 pm Wow. Nice guitar playing, and random ideas are not bad. Sounding good Proph.

Proph, check it out, that guy does really nice finger tap, especially at 3:00 Title: Re: I see we have a lot of music enthusiasts here... well, Post by: Proph on July 09, 2007, 01:03:36 pm Lizzy: many thanks for the feedback
Recently I found this link at YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmiKoL0rlzA (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmiKoL0rlzA) (It's floyd's marooned improvisation) Very nice stuff! That guy has excellent phrasing and his tone fits that song perfectly. I've jammed over floyd tracks before, but usually just traditional blues, nothing as daring or amazing as ugur.Proph, check it out, that guy does really nice finger tap, especially at 3:00 as for me: I'm a big andy mckee fan (he uses the acoustic in phenominal ways) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4Igb5Yors4 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4Igb5Yors4) I love over the top speed metal and neoclassical http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rNz9_jSeHc (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rNz9_jSeHc) and i'm absolutely in love with this song/band (particularly the last 4 minutes of vid) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fH72VUa-Fso (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fH72VUa-Fso) saying my taste in music is all over the place is probably a huge understatement Title: Re: I see we have a lot of music enthusiasts here... well, Post by: Quino on July 09, 2007, 02:00:39 pm Andy McKee is brilliant!
And last two links are actually the same ::) Title: Re: I see we have a lot of music enthusiasts here... well, Post by: Proph on July 12, 2007, 09:39:44 am right on both accounts
