Hrm... That was a rather frustrating reraid  Angry. And the third death was just stupid. But hey, Drunr reraided after all.

I wonder why Drunr was so kind and gentle towards Gnirbli when she was rank 31 and he came with another hero ranked ranger to slaughter her and archmage. So when he's outnumbered and overpowered it's horrifying, but when he's got the upper hand it's "A shame this has to happen". Hehe, respect for reraiding and all, but those who live in glass houses...

Erm... Two on raid with one protector is rather fair i think. Drunr would start the war when one of the tower necromancers was in the realms, but this was a not so frequent occasion, when Drunr and Sehei were both in and a chance to raid may not have come again. So, your invoker just got in the way of things. Was really sorry the gnome had to die  Cry.
But after all, you made your choice and came to reraid later against overwhelming forces (just Drunr at the time, but taking into concideration your rank and how you were dressed...) and that deserves just as much respect.  Smiley
Anyways, the point of the log was not about how Drunr deserves pity, but about stubbourn attempt to reraid agains four. At least that is how i would like look at it. Damn, hoped my shameful deaths would not become public knowledge  Tongue.

PS: Sehei (the mentioned hero ranger) was 31 or 32 rank at the time i believe.

Props to dervish for posting bad publicity about the tower  Tongue

I think it really is a bit much to have 3 tower mages to slay one cleric that doesn't have his powers, especially when Kelvar can slay him pretty easily on his own.

Proph, and what do you suggest? All except Kelvar should go rest somewhere in Inn or sit aside and watch the show? Or maybe quit?
It is a duty of everyone clanned to protect his cabal.

That is true.  I went out today for some coffee and was attacked by three tower mages before I was able to order my coffee.  Fortunately my treant rescued me from most of the mummies and I was able to wildhome before I was slain.

I need to find another coffee house... Wink

Maybe it'd be more interesting if all the Tower didn't show up together?

Heh, seems someone doesn't actually have the time/ability to actually watch the lands. If someone cares to say, how many times do you do a *who* and see only one tower member, or two, and different ones. It's very easy to think Tower members log in together...they are only clan with full ranks of *ACTIVE* members right now.

Well, I think they should all be there to defend their clanhall as they can.  Or should there be a rule that # on defense = # of attackers + X (whatever x should be, I have no idea)?

And I respect Drunr, but I know that he is no fool - he knew what he was getting into attacking a full tower.  I know one wild elf who tried that once, but then determined that it was not worth the battle of one on three (no win situation).  Besides, elves in Tower likely do not relish having to kill another so many times in defense of their cabal.

I respect Tower for that too.

Respect Drunr.

Perhaps Drunr overestimated his own abilities or underestimated mages?
Or this was just berserking attack with hope only for luck. At least mages aren't bloodthirsty till you avoid Tower. I hope so.

P.S. This beardy eats too many mushrooms actually. As all berserkers in past  Wink

there is chapter in clanrules about reriads, you can avoid reraid if there are outenumbered protectors.

Yea, sure it was easy to avoid reraid. Maybe even give it a try and retreat fast, for mages luckily lack the ability to hold. But! First, it would not be in the roleplay of Drunr, who is easily outraged (maybe a berserker is actually the appropriate word) and stubborn as hell. Second, the way Tower raided was unspeakable: right after they attacked outer, i came to bear and then realized, i had no orbs and wanted to make a fast gate for it. I gated at the exact moment ,when they entered under bear. The time it took me to get back was not enough to save the bear (never thought two alters and a full pack of mummies can raid THAT fast). So it might have looked like an attempt to avoid a fight. Did not want to have such a reputation Roll Eyes.
Anyways, everyone decides for themselves, whether to reraid against outnumbering foes or not.

you are leader, you must think like leader, not just ordinary soldier, or berserker

your death makes your clan more weak

you should save your power for a war, not a battle

as one-eyed great general said "Capturing capital doesn't mean end of war", he prefered to retreat and save his army and he won that war.

Nah, that philosophy i never shared. A leader shows an example and not all leaders were as cautious as Kutuzov and were still victorious. Those, who do not risk, do not drink champagne as the saying goes.  Smiley
Besides, death makes you weak only for a while (i mean if you loose eq). What was found once, can be found again.
And also, in Solace no war can be won, for it just goes on foreaver, so battles are of importance.

in solace victory in war means total domination.

i.e. Tower killed you and looted. you became weaker and can't opposite them.

now you can't reraid, you can't fight them successfully, you can't protect nature with good results, etc...

PS: let's increase dwarve's wisdom to 23?  Grin
