You step out of the shadows.
An old road that cuts through dark woodlands

Within the area of the Western Trade Route:
Samael On the cobblestone road
Rasol On the cobblestone road
(PK) Dunbar An old road that cuts through dark woodlands

Is it supposed to be the same area?

Yes it should be the same area.
You will be in shadowdale once you cross to "unknown lands".
