riposte works against hand blocks,

 Keywords: 'Restrike'

   A thief or fighter skilled in daggers may attempt to redirect their attack
   if it is parried and make another attack upon a defender. This is an
   automatic skill and requires good dexterity to perform adequately. All
   thieves may learn this skill, and fighters specialized in daggers.

but restrike not... Yet, none of the skills mentions hand block.

A restrike just occurs, from what I understand,  when someone "parries" your dagger and you get a second attempt. (what handblock?)

now i know what i wanted to say...  Embarrassed Riposte works against hth attacks while restrike is not... I am deeply ashamed. It's quite clear that the help files do not mention the effects of these skills against hth.

Restrike depends on victims parry of your blows.

I know, I saw today that the first attempt at pointing out the illogical thing (for myself) failed. So it all comes to this:
- riposte works when fighting assassins or hth warriors
- restrike does not work when fighting assassins or hth warriors

I just need to test it when Solace is back and post it here. Please, be patient.  Wink
