Yes, we're thinking about making sacrifices more RP-ish.

I'll admit item sacs are a bit annoying, (you should at least place the offering in a device of some sort to incinerate/smelt it for sacrificing)
but at the same time we do have all those rooms where you walk in and you see..

47 worn rubber duckies
78 small pebbles
43 broken slingshots
21 water-wings
2789644333233445564323455674544324565456456 diapers

and the lot, so how can we deal with those, at all without sacing?

ROFLMBO *coughs* yes yes. I agree there. But what exactly does turning off sacrifice have to do with RP-ing? I have missed the point I guess? As usual.

when you sacrifice something you do it for the gods..for the rebirth of the item on it's original mob.

But if you are a Heretic, you wouldn't be sacrificing an item to a God of your choice because you don't believe in worshipping gods.

You respect the Gods but you do not worship them or accept there power in any way.

Perhaps instead of a sacing an item we would have to take it to our respected pits.

You drop it there and either destroy it or sacrifice it there.

For clan members you would have to take it to your pits to do the same in reverance or respect for you God.
And for Herecy we take them to our pit as an offering to the Inquisitor whom we respect and learn from.

I had never thought on the heritic side of things with sacrificing. What do they do with things when they loot? Sell them, or are some inclined to sacrifice?

Usually we don't loot but if it should happen...I just set the stuff by my inquisitor and tell the person that's where there at if they wish to come get them..but of course they will have to fight whoever is on that is in there PK range to get to that equipment. so it usually rots there until I quit off or someone stronger comes to get it.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but doesn't the homepage say heretics detest the gods and are angry with them for bringing down the cataclysm and killing many innocents? I thought that was the reason they went around killing magi and clerics, because it was power of evil murderous gods in mortal hands.

We Respect Gods for the might..but trust or ask of there power is why we fight the pagans and Magi of the land.

Sacrificing something for the Gods would mean showing our favor for them and asking that they aid and guide us.  This is just my perception of course.

I know this is a bit off topic but please stop using pagan in that context. Heretics are the most pagan people in the realms. Pagan is lack of religion, not the other way around. Just for next time.

Exactly, hence the name heretics. I used to wonder why they were called that, as the old rp for them was just people are abusing power of gods, so it seemed to me they were doing this to protect the name and might of the gods, but new rp in that they detest the gods for the cataclysm makes them seem almost heroic, in that they fight those who seek power through the gods to prevent another cataclysm.

well just to think about...

in DoE for sacrificing an item you gained a small bonus. (provided the item was worthy)
if the item was crap, the gods smited you and you gained some small negative affects.

For allthe crap items they used the 'junk' command..

it seemed to work rather well, as sacrifice became more of an RP thing
